AI startup Orchid raises $36 million in funding

AI startup Orchid raises $36 million in funding Orchid raises $36M for AI-powered identity protection

Orchid Security, a company specializing in identity protection as artificial intelligence advances, announced on Tuesday it raised $36 million in seed funding.

The funding round was led by Intel Capital and Team8, with additional participation from CapitalOne and prominent investors. This significant backing highlights the growing interest in identity protection as AI technologies become more integrated into various industries, reports Reuters.

The New York-based company, with research and development operations in Israel, plans to use the capital to enhance its capabilities. Orchid aims to leverage large language models to tackle the complexities of managing identity systems, addressing critical challenges in today’s digital landscape.

Global Reach and High-Profile Clients

Orchid revealed it is already collaborating with major corporations in sectors including finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Among its clients are Fortune 100 companies such as Costco and Repsol.

Identity verification—a critical process for confirming that individuals are who they claim to be—has become increasingly essential in combating fraud and ensuring secure operations as digital ecosystems grow. Orchid’s technology aims to address these needs in an era where AI introduces both opportunities and risks.

Israel's Role as a Cybersecurity Powerhouse

The company’s R&D roots in Israel reflect the country's leadership in cybersecurity innovation. While cyber-focused firms account for just 7% of Israeli tech companies, they raised nearly $4 billion in 2024, representing 36% of total startup funding in the country. Israel's prominence in this sector provides a strong foundation for companies like Orchid to pioneer solutions on a global scale.

With its fresh funding and partnerships, Orchid Security is poised to drive advancements in identity protection, an area of growing importance in an AI-driven world. The company’s work highlights the rising need for robust digital safeguards as industries worldwide embrace technological transformation.
