Stacy Herbert is a leading advocate for Bitcoin and the Director of El Salvador’s National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC), where she plays a central role in implementing the country’s Bitcoin strategy. Formerly known for co-hosting The Keiser Report alongside her husband Max Keiser, Herbert now works closely with policymakers, educators, and investors to build Bitcoin-based infrastructure and promote financial sovereignty in El Salvador.
Under her leadership, ONBTC has educated over 80,000 civil servants on Bitcoin and introduced Bitcoin literacy programs from kindergarten to university through initiatives like Mi Primer Bitcoin and CUBO+. She also spearheaded the Freedom Visa program, which offers a path to citizenship for crypto investors contributing $1 million to national development, capped at 1,000 applicants annually.
Despite El Salvador removing Bitcoin’s legal tender status in January 2025 to secure an IMF loan, Herbert reaffirmed the country’s commitment to its Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and hinted at accelerating BTC purchases. Her outspoken stance on economic independence, inflation, and hard money principles continues to resonate globally. Through social media and public appearances, Herbert champions Bitcoin as a path to financial freedom for emerging economies.
