Broker AMarkets informs its clients about the upcoming change in contract size for indices.

This decision was made to improve the quality of service for trading accounts on the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms. The contract size for indices will be changed.

According to the information published on the AMarkets website, the changes will take effect on July 15-16 and will affect the following instruments:

Nasdaq100: current contract size - 20 / new size - 1

DowJones30: current contract size - 5 / new size - 1

S&P500: current contract size - 50 / new size - 1

DXY: current contract size - 1000 / new size - 100

DAX30: current contract size - 22 / new size - 1

Russell2000:current contract size - 200 / new size - 1

ITA40: current contract size - 5 / new size - 1

VIX: current contract size - 4000 / new size - 400

ASX200: current contract size - 25 / new size - 1

China50: current contract size - 10 / new size - 1

IBEX35: current contract size - 10 / new size - 1

HK50: current contract size - 5 / new size - 1

The broker points out that after the update, one lot size for most indices will be equal to one contract. This means that if you already have open positions, their volume will be increased proportionally. This change will allow you to calculate the position value and trade on indices much faster, even with small deposits.

Also, MT4 users will need to update their Advisor settings if positions on indices have been opened by the Advisor, while MT5 clients will need to close the positions manually as the Advisor will not recognize them as a result of reopening.
