Investment firm Robinhood has announced the expansion of its office in Toronto, Canada.
The initiative underscores the company's commitment to hiring professionals and its mission to democratize finance for all.
Robinhood's Toronto team will support growing business needs, help drive innovation, and expand the company's global reach.
"We support a growing suite of products, and our software, security, and corporate engineering organizations are critical to Robinhood's global success," the company said in a statement.
The majority of Robinhood Canada's current job openings are in engineering and security.
It is not yet clear whether Robinhood's move is an attempt to find talented professionals overseas or if the company is preparing to enter the Canadian market as it did in the UK.
Robinhood launched its UK division in late 2023, in line with its global strategy. Previously, the company had already tried to launch its trading app in the UK in 2019 after receiving approval from the Financial Services Authority, but froze the project in 2020.
In particular, the company stressed that it is always on the lookout for new talent.
"We are always looking for new people who share our commitment to building a diverse team and creating an inclusive environment as we continue our journey to democratize finance for all," Robinhood said.
