IFC Markets halts CFD trading on select stocks IFC Markets suspends CFD trading due to events

IFC Markets, a leading provider of online trading services, has announced the temporary suspension of trading for Contracts for Difference (CFDs) on select stocks due to upcoming corporate events.

Affected stocks and suspension details

The suspension will impact the following CFD assets:

Western Digital Corp. (Ticker: #S-WDC)

WH Group Ltd. (Ticker: #H-0288)

Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd. (Ticker: #A-SUN)

According to IFC Markets, trading on these CFDs will be suspended starting February 17, 2025. Prior to this suspension, all open positions in the affected assets will be closed at the market closing price on February 14, 2025.

While no specific date for resumption has been provided, the company has assured its clients that trading will be reinstated once the corporate events have concluded.

Reason for suspension

Corporate events such as mergers, acquisitions, financial report releases, stock splits, or regulatory changes often lead to increased market volatility and uncertainty. To protect traders from unexpected price fluctuations and potential liquidity issues, IFC Markets has decided to preemptively suspend CFD trading on these stocks.

IFC Markets advises all traders to review their positions and assess their risk exposure before February 14, 2025. All open trades on #S-WDC, #H-0288, and #A-SUN will be automatically liquidated at market closing prices on this date.

The brokerage reassures its clients that trading on these assets will resume in the future, and any updates regarding their status will be communicated through IFC Markets’ official channels.

At this time, traders are encouraged to explore alternative CFD instruments available on the IFC Markets platform and stay informed about market developments that could impact their investment strategies.

Previously, IFC Markets announced the release of a new version of its NetTradeX trading terminal.
