An upgrade to the Dash blockchain caused a massive crash

On May 22 at 7:02 UTC+3, the Dash network ceased to operate, recording the last value of block #1 874 879.
Developer spokesman Samuel Westrich wrote in a message on Twitter that the problem was triggered by the launch of the Dash Core v19 upgrade.
"There was a problem during the v19 activation of Dash Core. The chain is stalled and is currently not producing blocks. We have everyone investigating the issue. I will continue with updates on Twitter as we have more information.", — he wrote.
He also assured that the team has everything they need to fix the problem.
Dmytro Korniychuk, the founder of PirateCash, said that the use of offline software makes it impossible to organize a restart of the network. Blockchain does not work in the absence of synchronous operations and the stopping of blocks.
At the same time, cryptoinvestors did not notice any changes in the price of DASH cryptocurrency. There have been no dramatic jumps in the last 24 hours, and the token has dropped in price by only 0.1% and is trading around $43.8.
Earlier, Dash Core Group Chief Marketing Officer Fernando Gutierrez defined the purpose of Dash as a means of payment rather than an anonymous cryptocurrency. DashDirect payment app was launched in 2021 and is used by investors.
