Crypto.com and Canary Capital to launch first U.S. investment trust for CRO

Crypto.com, a popular cryptocurrency trading platform, and digital asset investment firm Canary Capital Group LLC have partnered to launch the Canary CRO Trust — a private investment vehicle designed to provide U.S. investors with simplified access to CRO, the native token of the Cronos blockchain.
The initiative marks a significant milestone as the first U.S. private trust offering exposure to CRO through a registered financial product.
The Canary CRO Trust is intended to track the market performance of CRO, offering accredited investors a simple and transparent way to participate in the Cronos ecosystem. Structured as a private placement security, the trust aligns with Crypto.com's broader strategy of bridging traditional finance and digital assets in the U.S. market. The launch follows the company’s recent partnership with Trump Media & Technology Group to introduce a series of ETFs, including the first cryptocurrency index fund to feature CRO.
Company statements and cronos features
Steven McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital, praised Crypto.com’s leadership in the digital asset space. “Crypto.com consistently sets the standard for what it means to provide institutional access to crypto markets,” McClurg said. “Their commitment to security, innovation, and growth makes them a standout in the digital asset space, and we believe demand for CRO via a registered trust product will reflect the broader success of Crypto.com and what they are building.”
Cronos is a decentralized blockchain protocol with dual compatibility for both the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and the Cosmos SDK. This flexibility allows developers to build cross-chain applications while benefiting from Cronos’ low transaction costs and high scalability. The platform continues to attract a growing number of decentralized applications and DeFi protocols, reinforcing its appeal to both crypto enthusiasts and institutional players.
Crypto.com’s vision and investor access
Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, emphasized the company’s mission to expand access to blockchain technology. “We are incredibly excited to partner with Canary Capital to enable more investors in the U.S. to contribute to the Cronos journey ahead,” he said.
The Canary CRO Trust will be available exclusively to accredited individual and institutional investors in the United States, providing a regulated avenue to engage with one of the fastest-growing ecosystems in crypto.
Previously, Crypto.com also announced the integration of PayPal as a payment option for customers across the European Union.
