Binance Japan achieves ISO certifications, strengthening Web3 security and trust

Binance Japan, the local branch of global crypto exchange Binance, has obtained two internationally recognized certifications — ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 — confirming its high standards in information security and privacy management.
This milestone highlights the company’s commitment to providing a secure and trusted environment for digital asset users in Japan, according to a blog post published by the exchange.
The certifications were granted by the British Standards Institution (BSI) after a thorough audit of Binance Japan’s internal policies, operational procedures, and corporate governance systems. ISO/IEC 27001 confirms the effectiveness of information security governance, while ISO/IEC 27701 focuses on personal data management — both considered essential in an industry where regulatory compliance and user trust are increasingly critical.
Leadership comments and global context
Takeshi Chino, General Manager of Binance Japan, emphasized that the certifications validate the company’s long-standing investments in security and transparency.“Receiving these certifications is recognition of our continuous efforts to uphold high standards of security and transparency in our operations. In the fast-paced digital asset industry, we believe that maintaining top-tier security is essential not only for our users but also for building broader societal trust,” he said.
Jimmy Su, Chief Security Officer at Binance, also stressed the importance of strong information security governance, calling it crucial for the sustainable development of the blockchain industry. He added that Binance’s global infrastructure and best practices have been fully adopted by the Japan entity, further strengthening its resilience and credibility.
Binance’s global strategy and Japan roadmap
This achievement aligns with Binance’s global strategy to enforce consistent, high-level security standards across all regions. Binance entities in France, the UAE, Thailand, Turkey, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan have already earned similar certifications, demonstrating the company’s commitment to regulatory compliance and user protection worldwide.
For Binance Japan, the certifications serve as formal recognition of its long-standing emphasis on security and privacy. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue reinforcing its security systems and expanding its secure infrastructure to support the reliable and sustainable growth of Japan’s Web3 ecosystem.
