Bitfinex Securities, Bitfinex's cryptocurrency exchange platform regulated in Kazakhstan and El Salvador, has expanded access to accredited investments.

Previously, only corporate or individual investors with the ability to invest at least $100,000 in a particular asset had access to accredited investments, but this has now been extended to platform users who qualify as professional investors.

This was made possible after Bitfinex Securities, a token listing and trading platform, received regulatory approval to revise the definition of "accredited investor," according to Bitfinex

Accredited professional investors can now actively participate in secondary market trading and hold positions in any accredited offering. In addition, they have gained access to a broader range of investment products, the ability to participate in smaller trades and investments, and the ability to engage in trading and investment activities with reduced accredited asset limits.

The exchange notes that professional investors are defined as those with at least $100,000 in liquid assets and two or more years of trading experience.

Jesse Knutson, Head of Operations at Bitfinex Securities, emphasized that the innovation will allow investors to access a wider range of products and participate in trading with much greater inclusivity.

The decision to expand access to accredited investors demonstrates Bitfinex Securities' commitment to providing its experienced clients with more options in the world of tokenized securities.
