On Monday, September 2, 2024, in observance of the U.S. Labor Day holiday, Bitstamp will temporarily suspend its bank payment clearing system for all incoming and outgoing USD transactions.

The pause, which the exchange announced in its blog, is due to the holiday closure of U.S. banks, which play an important role in processing fiat currency transfers on the platform.

Despite the interruption of USD payments, other payment methods on Bitstamp remain fully operational. These include SEPA transfers in EUR, FPS transfers in GBP, as well as transactions via credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal. Users relying on these alternatives will experience no difficulties during the holiday.

Bitstamp encourages any users needing assistance or additional information regarding this temporary suspension to contact their support team. The platform also extended warm Labor Day wishes to its U.S. clients, hoping they enjoy a restful holiday.

Founded in 2011, Bitstamp is one of the longest-standing regulated centralized crypto exchanges, serving more than 5 million clients in over 100 countries. Whether users want to trade on its web platform, mobile app or APIs, Bitstamp provides convenient and easy-to-use access to up to 80 crypto assets.
