Crypto exchange Bitstamp and London-based Qi Digital have announced a new partnership that will enable businesses, banks, and payment processors to accept regular payments in digital currency.

Businesses in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa will be able to accept crypto payments through Bitstamp's combined crypto exchange service and Qi's platform.

In addition, the Bitstamp and Qi partnership will allow digital wallet owners to pay for goods and services, and business clients to accept crypto payments at checkout, Finextra reported. The cryptocurrency exchange's main role will be to receive transactions and convert them into Qi's business clients' bank accounts. In return, Qi will provide Bitstamp with access to banks and other payment processors that want to offer digital assets to their clients.

"As crypto continues to evolve and we get closer to our goal of mainstream adoption, this partnership with Qi Digital signals the next step in helping mainstream audiences confidently approach digital assets by providing seamless crypto transactions," said Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux, CEO of Bitstamp.

"We can help shape the crypto landscape by preparing businesses for the future and meeting the demands of a growing global consumer market," said Mann Matharu, CEO of Qi Digital.
