Staked Ethereum hits record with over 35 million

Staked Ethereum hits record with over 35 million Ethereum staking reaches 35M ETH milestone

Ethereum staking has surged to a new milestone, with over 35 million ETH now locked into the network’s staking contracts, according to recent data from CryptoQuant and Onchain School.

This marks the highest staking level ever recorded for Ethereum since its transition to proof-of-stake (PoS) in 2022.

Key takeaway

- 35M ETH staked, a new all-time high

- 500,000+ ETH added since June 2025

- 22.8M ETH in accumulation wallets (never sold)

- Staked ETH value exceeds $130B at current market prices

- Ongoing PoS and scaling developments drive participation

Accumulation addresses reach 22.8 million ETH

The spike includes more than 500,000 ETH newly staked since early June 2025 alone, reflecting a renewed wave of confidence among Ethereum holders and validators. At current prices, the total value of staked ETH exceeds $130 billion, underscoring the scale of long-term commitment to the network’s security and governance.

In addition to the record staking figures, accumulation addresses—wallets that have never sold ETH—have reached a new high of 22.8 million ETH. These wallets typically belong to long-term holders, institutions, or staking entities, and their rising balances signal strong conviction in Ethereum’s long-term value and utility.

The growing figures are seen as a positive signal for network decentralization and stability. Staking not only helps validate transactions and maintain network integrity, but also earns participants yield in the form of staking rewards. The increase in staked ETH may also reduce circulating supply, potentially impacting future price dynamics.

Implications for Ethereum’s future

The continued rise in staked ETH comes amid Ethereum’s broader scaling roadmap, including upgrades like proto-danksharding (EIP-4844) and future iterations toward full sharding. High staking participation suggests a healthy validator ecosystem and a maturing investor base increasingly aligned with Ethereum’s long-term vision.

As staking remains a core part of Ethereum’s proof-of-stake model, analysts will be watching whether this trend sustains or accelerates, particularly with ETH 2.0 developments and regulatory clarity evolving in key markets.
