Biography and Professional History

Olena Litvinenko is a Senior Editor and financial writer at Traders Union with more than 25 years of experience in journalism, editing, and international media. She has been writing and editing articles on finance, business, economics, and financial markets for more than 20 years.

Olena began her career as a journalist and translator at Eastern Economist, an English-language business publication. She later spent more than a decade at Kyiv Weekly and Weekly.ua, progressing from journalist and translator to editor and assistant editor-in-chief. She also headed the English-language editorial team at Capital, a business newspaper covering financial, economic, and corporate news.

Since joining Traders Union in 2020, Olena has focused on financial markets, investing, trading, and cryptocurrencies. As Senior Editor, she writes and edits financial content and helps oversee multilingual editorial operations across approximately 30 languages.

Her extensive experience in financial journalism has shaped a simple approach to her work: complex financial topics should be accurate without being difficult to understand. She focuses on giving readers the context they need to understand markets and make better-informed financial decisions.

She contributed to several annual English-language editions of The Ukraine Competitiveness Report and has translated and edited several fiction and non-fiction books.

Olena holds a master’s degree in Translation and Interpretation from the Kyiv Institute of Translators and Interpreters.
