Connext is a moderate-risk broker with the TU Overall Score of 5.52 out of 10. Having reviewed trading opportunities offered by the company and reviews posted by Connext clients on our website, Traders Union expert Anton Kharitonov recommends users to thoroughly analyze pros and cons before opening an account with this broker as not all clients are satisfied with the company, according to reviews.

Connext focuses on the Forex market and has a limited choice of other assets. It offers different account types, including a cent account, and charges low trading fees. However, it does not provide education to traders regardless of their experience and skills.

TU Expert Advice

Anastasiia Chabaniuk

Author, Financial Expert at Traders Union

Connext offers Forex and CFD trading with assets including currency pairs, indices, metals, energies, and cryptocurrencies on MetaTrader 5 and cTrader platforms. The company provides varied account types, including a cent account, with a low minimum deposit of $10 and leverage up to 1:1000. Traders benefit from low trading fees, floating spreads, and automated and copy trading options, supported by negative balance protection to limit financial risk.

However, Connext faces restrictions in certain high-risk regions, notably lacking educational resources and a comprehensive asset range, missing stocks and ETFs. The broker's regulation under the Seychelles FSA is Tier-3, offering limited security. Consequently, while competitive for experienced Forex traders seeking high leverage and low fees, Connext may not be suitable for novice traders needing robust educational support and diverse asset choices.

Connext Trading Conditions

Your capital is at risk.  CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. A high percentage of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

I am not entirely satisfied with Connext's services. While the platform's execution speed is commendable, there are some shortcomings. Firstly, the asset selection is limited. Secondly, I encountered unprofessional behavior from the technical support team. After registering, I inquired about expert advisors, but the support representative mistakenly claimed the broker did not service Singaporean citizens. Upon clarifying my Chinese residency, the representative apologized and abruptly ended the chat. Fortunately, a more competent agent provided the necessary information about algorithmic trading the following day.

Six months ago, a Connext manager told me that they were going to add cryptocurrencies as a deposit and withdrawal method. However, this hasn’t happened yet. Otherwise, I like the broker’s services. Slippage is minimal, and even positive sometimes. All versions of MT5 are fast and freeze rarely. Spreads on the Standard account range from 0.8 pips to 2 pips. The automated negative balance protection prevents me from exceeding my account balance. Technical support is good, I can rate it 4 out of 5.

Connext has attracted me with the availability of cTrader alongside MT5. While I use cTrader for algorithmic trading, MT5 is more convenient for independent trading. Since Connext is a relatively new broker, I started with a demo account. After a couple of weeks, I felt confident enough to open a cent account. Now I have 5 different account types. For all settlements, I use bank transfer, which is the most reliable method, though not the fastest.

Connext is a broker offering dynamic leverage

Leverage available to Connext clients depends on two factors: the account balance and asset class. With lower capital, leverage increases. The maximum value of 1:1,000 is available for the balance up to $10,000. With $10,000-$20,000 on the balance, leverage is 1:500, while 1:200 is offered for $20,000-$30,000. Values up to 1:100 are provided for capital above $30,000.

Major and minor currency pairs can be traded with leverage ranging from 1:500 to 1:1,000. For exotic pairs and energy assets, the maximum leverage is 1:100, while for metals it's 1:200. Cryptocurrencies have a fixed leverage of 1:10, regardless of account balance. For instance, trading ZAR pairs is capped at 1:100 leverage, even with a balance exceeding $10,000 due to their classification as an exotic pair.
