Brief Look at Kriptomat
European cryptocurrency platform Kriptomat officially ceased providing all regulated services on June 30, 2026, after eight years in business. The company's management cited regulatory uncertainty surrounding MiCA (European Cryptocurrency Regulation) licensing in Estonia, where the exchange was registered, as the primary reason for the closure. Due to delays in issuing new licenses to local operators, Kriptomat saw no opportunity to continue operating legally and securely and decided to close on its own terms, maintaining full solvency.
The exchange's management assured that all client assets were safe and encouraged users to migrate centrally to the American exchange Kraken, their official partner. Access to the Kriptomat website and app will be completely blocked effective September 1, 2026.
