TU Expert Verdict
Chief Analytics Officer
CYRRUS provides brokerage services, access to trading stocks, bonds, options, futures, investment certificates, ETFs, and Forex, and offers two account types designed for Czech retail and institutional investors. Regulated by the Czech National Bank, CYRRUS combines investment management and advisory support with a web interface and E-Portfolio mobile apps. The broker focuses on long-term wealth management and regular investing, starting from a minimum deposit of 1,000 CZK, while offering asset custody, ongoing support, and individually tailored investment strategies. Clients benefit from access to European and U.S. financial markets, insurance of up to EUR 20,000 on investment accounts, and further protection for funds stored in the financial account.
A few disadvantages are limited account funding and withdrawal options, as only bank transfers are accepted, monthly maintenance and tiered performance fees that can become substantial for some clients, and some investment products being available only after manager consultation. CYRRUS is best suited for investors seeking a regulated Czech platform focused on disciplined wealth growth and ongoing support, but it may not be suitable for those focused on frequent trading or seeking low-fee, self-directed execution.

Is CYRRUS Safe?
CYRRUS is an investment company operating under the supervision of the Czech National Bank (ČNB, Česká národní banka), which regulates financial and investment services in the country. The company operates under applicable Czech legislation and has been registered since 1996 as a securities trader under number 63907020.
CYRRUS participates in the Garanční fond obchodníků s cennými papíry, a guarantee fund for securities traders. Compensation is possible if the broker becomes unable to fulfill its obligations to return client funds and assets. The maximum payout is 90% of the portfolio value, but no more than the equivalent of EUR 20,000 per client. Compensation applies to money and assets held in the investment account. Funds in the financial account are additionally insured up to EUR 100,000 through CYRRUS’s partner bank, providing a level of protection similar to EU bank deposit insurance.
Advantages
- Operating under KYC and AML standards ensures legal transparency for all transactions.
- ČNB oversight reduces the likelihood of broker misconduct.
- Segregation of client and company funds reduces operational risks.
Disadvantages
- Deposits and withdrawals are available only by bank transfer.
- Information about internal control mechanisms and security audits is limited.
Commissions and Fees
CYRRUS charges a monthly maintenance fee for the investment account. The amount depends on the client’s asset value and is calculated as a percentage of the balance: up to CZK 999,999, 0.30%; from CZK 1,000,000 to CZK 4,999,999, 0.25%; from CZK 5,000,000 to CZK 9,999,999, 0.165%; above CZK 10,000,000, an individual rate. In addition, a performance fee is charged on positive returns: 15% on profit from 5% to 10%, 20% from 10% to 15%, and 25% on returns above 15% per year. The withdrawal fee varies depending on the recipient bank.
| Account type | Spread (minimum value) | Withdrawal commission |
|---|---|---|
| Investiční účet | From 0.165% per month | Depends on the recipient bank |
Account Types
A user can open an account as an individual, a company, or a sole proprietor. CYRRUS offers two separate account types, each serving different purposes. The financial account is used to hold funds without investing them, while the investment account is used for market access and asset management.
Account types:
Both accounts operate within a single system and allow funds to be transferred between them without a fee. This structure supports fast capital reallocation and efficient liquidity management. A separate commission structure applies to each account. The investment account is subject to a management fee, while the financial account is used without additional costs.
Deposit and Withdrawal
-
Deposits and withdrawals may incur bank fees, but the broker does not charge a fee.
-
Withdrawals from the investment account require a prior request.
-
If the client notifies the broker about the intention to withdraw funds and waits 3 months, then after this period, and within the following 30 days, the withdrawal is free of charge.
-
If the client withdraws funds earlier than that period, a 5% fee is charged on the withdrawal amount.
-
Only one active withdrawal request can be submitted. A new request cancels the previous one.
