Brett Adcock, founder of several technology companies, highlights the current limitations of AI chatbots used today.
He describes these AI tools as primarily functioning as advanced internet search facilitators but still lacking in intelligent features. Adcock envisions that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) will be significantly more advanced, being multimodal. This means it will possess capabilities such as listening, speaking, seeing the world, having near-perfect memory, and being deeply personalized, as well as interacting with the physical world.
This vision of AGI reflects a significant leap from the current chatbot applications, setting an ambitious trajectory for future developments in artificial intelligence.
Adcock’s vision for AGI builds upon a pattern seen in recent technological advancements, particularly with the introduction of the Helix AI model, which marked new milestones in autonomous robotics. At the same time, overcoming the persistent challenges in humanoid control remains a crucial step toward realizing systems capable of the richer, multimodal interaction he describes.
