Rick Caruso accuses city and state of failing to prevent and concealing Palisades wildfire costs
Caruso criticizes Palisades fire response

Rick Caruso, real estate developer and former Los Angeles mayoral candidate, has publicly criticized city and state authorities for what he describes as inadequate prevention efforts and subsequent attempts to obscure the true financial impact of the Palisades fire. In a recent statement, Caruso expressed appreciation for LAFD firefighter Scott Pike for speaking out about the incident, but pointed out that such whistleblowing should not be necessary. Caruso asserted that the Palisades fire, which has been labeled as the most costly wildfire in U.S. history, was ''totally preventable'' and indicated concerns about a lack of transparency from officials regarding its management and financial ramifications. City officials and state representatives have not yet publicly responded to Caruso’s allegations.
