Steve Cohen notes opposition to U.S. reversal of coal ash rules
Steve Cohen opposes U.S. coal ash changes

On World Environment Day, Steve Cohen drew attention to the importance of environmental protection and a sustainable future. Cohen announced he is co-leading a letter opposing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) move to rescind coal ash regulations, as well as working on related legislation. Coal ash, a byproduct of coal-fired power plants, poses significant environmental risks if not managed properly. Cohen's statement follows ongoing debates around the rollback of environmental rules in the U.S., underscoring efforts by some lawmakers to maintain stricter federal standards.

Cohen has recently taken other public policy stances beyond environmental issues. Earlier this year, he filed six impeachment articles against U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. He also supported a feasibility study for granting national scenic status to the Benton MacKaye Trail.
