Coinbase has announced the launch of perpetual-style equity index futures, allowing users to trade AI, Defense, China, and Tech sector indexes with 24/7 access on its regulated platform.

Coinbase has introduced perpetual-style equity index futures, with trading scheduled to begin on June 8, 2026, on its CFTC-regulated futures exchange. The newly launched contracts—AI10, Defense10, China10, and Tech100—provide round-the-clock access to sector-focused equity exposure, allowing users to take long or short positions on indexes tracking AI, defense, China-related equities, and a Nasdaq-based tech sector basket.
Each product is a cash-settled, perpetual-style contract structured with funding rates and tax treatment similar to crypto perpetual futures, and tracks a MarketVector index. The launch targets institutional clients initially, with retail access planned for a later stage.
Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange that attracts many novice traders and offers trading in a wide range of digital assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash. The platform is accessible via web and mobile apps, provides offline storage for assets, free e-wallet and virtual card options, and features training materials that allow users to learn and earn simultaneously.
