Highlights

  • ZS/USX trades below short- and medium-term moving averages but remains above the long-term average, suggesting ongoing downside pressure within a longer-term bullish structure.
  • Momentum indicators are weak overall, with sell signals dominating and intraday sellers currently in control despite some indicator divergence.
  • Price is at USX1,237 and the expected range for the next 2 to 3 days is USX1,229 to USX1,258, with a high probability of further downside unless resistance at USX1,257 is broken.

Weak momentum and bearish signals amid resistance test

ZS/USX is trading below both its MA-20 at USX1,255 and MA-50 at USX1,259, while remaining above the MA-200 at USX1,208. The Ichimoku Kijun sits at USX1,257 and acts as immediate resistance. Momentum indicators are weak, with RSI at 38.34 and MACD signaling Sell; CCI is also negative. ADX is Neutral, and both Stochastic RSI and Awesome Oscillator give no clear direction. Bull/Bear Power is overbought, indicating sellers dominate intraday despite the typical implication of buyer strength, highlighting a divergence in signals. The price is near today’s low, and moderate volatility confirms a negative intraday setting.

Downside risk elevated as volatility band favors range trade

In the short term, ZS/USX is expected to trade within a typical volatility band of USX1,229 to USX1,258 over the next 2–3 trading days. The probability of a move higher is low, while further downside is more likely. The baseline outlook is for price action to remain sideways; a breakout above USX1,257 could trigger additional upside, whereas a breach below USX1,229 may lead to extended declines.

Anton Kharitonov, analyst at Traders Union, notes that Soybean Futures are showing weak momentum and remain below key moving averages on most timeframes. He points out that sellers continue to dominate intraday, with technical signals still skewed to the downside. Kharitonov sees no change in the baseline outlook, with price likely to stay rangebound unless there is a break of USX1,229 or USX1,257. "I remain cautious here — until we get a close above USX1,257, there’s no reason to expect any sustained upside."

Earlier, analysts noted that Soybean Futures faced persistent technical pressure within a fragile longer-term structure. The current analysis reinforces this view, highlighting that traders should closely monitor the USX1,229 level for potential downside acceleration in the coming sessions.
