Ribbon Communications unveils optical networking upgrade for Planters Broadband rollout

Ribbon Communications has announced that Planters Broadband is implementing its Apollo 9608 optical networking platform and Muse multilayer automation as part of a next-generation network upgrade.

The deployment is described as multi-phased and aims to modernize Planters Broadband's core infrastructure, enhancing both scalability and automation for regional telecommunications services. The collaboration highlights industry efforts to boost fiber backbone capabilities using advanced automation tools, ensuring higher network efficiency and expanded future capacity.

Ribbon Communications has recently taken steps to deepen regional relationships by participating in the UTC 6 Workshop, with a focus on industry collaboration. The company also concluded the Upperside World Congress in Paris, where it advocated for new partnerships on autonomous networks, according to a previous statement. These efforts come as Ribbon expands its role in next-generation network automation.
