Ouster, Inc. has introduced the Rev8 OS1 Max, a lidar sensor designed to enhance vision in high-speed autonomous systems. The new device features 256 channels of vertical resolution and offers a range of up to 500 meters, enabling detection of small objects such as debris or pedestrians at highway speeds.
The Rev8 OS1 Max aims to support the safe operation of autonomous vehicles by providing real-time, detailed data needed for swift decision-making. Ouster, Inc. continues to develop hardware solutions for improving perception in transportation and robotics sectors.
Earlier this year, Ouster, Inc. presented a live demo of its native color lidar technology at the Automate robotics event, highlighting advances for AI-driven robotics such as AMRs and humanoids (see article). The company also introduced its Rev8 lidar at the Automate Show in Chicago, with a focus on robotics, industrial automation, and smart infrastructure (see article). These developments reflect Ouster’s continued efforts to expand its hardware offerings for the robotics and transportation industries.
