Micron Technology surges 9.26% today

Micron Technology announced a new storage milestone, combining its 245TB 6600 ION SSDs in a 2U system to deliver 15.8PB of storage.

Micron Technology achieved this by working with Weka's new WEKApod Prime Max system. Senior Director Larry Hart shared more in a blog post.

Highlights

  • MU is consolidating near recent highs with a projected price range of $845 to $1,135 for the coming week.
  • Momentum indicators on the daily chart signal oversold conditions and recent seller control, despite a 9.26% intraday rebound.
  • Upside probability exceeds 80% with strong weekly buy signals, while support at $900 and resistance at $1,050 define short-term risk boundaries.

Short-term weakness persists as price holds above long-term supports

MU is trading at $946.99, just above the MA-50 ($937.51), but below the MA-20 ($1,010.25), signaling ongoing short-term pressure from sellers while maintaining medium- and long-term positive structure above the MA-200 ($486.52). The Ichimoku Kijun at $1,047.76 stands well above the current price, highlighting immediate resistance; near-term support sits at the MA-50, with key support from the MA-100 ($687.73) and MA-200, while near-term resistance comes from the MA-20, and key resistance is the Ichimoku Kijun.

Oversold daily signals contrast with strong weekly rebound and high volatility

Momentum on D1 is mixed, with MACD signaling a sell and ADX showing neutral trend strength. RSI (42.64), CCI (-102.85), Stoch RSI (10.09), and BBP (-37.89) all indicate oversold conditions and short-term seller dominance, but the weekly price action contradicts this: MU has jumped $101.66 (11.90%) from the previous week’s close of $845.33, currently sitting in the upper part of the weekly range. Weekly volatility stands at a substantial 16.41%, with the tone leaning toward consolidation near recent highs. In today's session, MU is up 9.26%, reflecting a volatile rebound from oversold levels.

Upside favored as technicals and volatility raise breakout potential

For the coming week, the expected price corridor is $845 to $1,135, based on adjusted volatility and the asset's recent behavior—anchoring the forecast far above the 52-week low ($103.42) but well below the 52-week high ($1,255.00). The probability of further upside is very high (more than 80%), supported by Buy signals from MA-50-W1, RSI-W1, ADX-W1, and a Strong Buy from MACD-W1, making a decline much less likely. Baseline scenario: MU consolidates between $900 and $1,050. In the bullish scenario, a sustained move above $1,050 could target $1,135. If bearish momentum returns and MU breaks below $900, a retreat toward $845 is likely before long-term buyers re-emerge.
