CZ launches predict.fun as prediction markets enter new growth phase
Changpeng Zhao has unveiled predict.fun, a new BNB Chain–based prediction market backed by his incubator YZi Labs and founded by a former Binance researcher.
The platform differentiates itself from rivals like Polymarket by earning yield on users’ staked funds through DeFi integrations rather than leaving capital idle, reports Cryptopolitan.
Predict.fun currently lists two markets with roughly $300,000 in combined volume, reports over 12,000 users, and records nearly 300,000 total bets. Instead of simple wagering, the platform uses an order book model where users buy and sell event-based shares with fixed-payout outcomes. Its mobile-first design was a core focus of its early-access campaign, and CZ’s endorsement has driven significant buzz—though liquidity and limited stablecoin depth on BNB Chain remain obstacles for scaling real-money markets.
Trust Wallet expands prediction access as U.S. states escalate regulatory pushback
CZ’s launch aligns with Trust Wallet’s new “Predictions” feature, which lets users trade outcomes directly in-wallet while maintaining custody of their funds. The tool integrates Myriad initially and plans to add major platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket, offering tokenized markets across crypto, politics, sports, and entertainment. Analysts expect prediction markets to reach over 220 million global users, with wallets becoming a primary interface for participation.
But the expansion comes as U.S. regulators increase pressure: 10 states and several tribal authorities have taken or threatened action over event-contract markets. This week, Connecticut issued cease-and-desist orders to Robinhood, Kalshi, and Crypto.com, alleging unlicensed sports wagering. Kalshi argues states cannot override its federal CFTC designation as a regulated contract market, setting up a widening jurisdictional showdown involving prediction finance.
CZ vs. Peter Schiff: Bitcoin vs. tokenized gold in Dubai
The launch of predict.fun coincides with today’s headline debate at Binance Blockchain Week Dubai, where CZ will face off against long-time Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff. The session centers on the value of Bitcoin compared with tokenized gold—an extension of their years-long public dispute. CZ has continued his series of bullish calls, writing that he expects “many more ATHs soon,” and reiterating an October prediction that Bitcoin will one day flip gold in total value. As he promotes prediction markets across BNB Chain and Trust Wallet, CZ is positioning himself at the center of both market-structure innovation and crypto’s ongoing narrative battles.
Recently we wrote that U.S. President Donald Trump has pardoned former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. The decision may allow CZ to return to Binance in an official capacity.
