XRP whales step up accumulation ahead of XRP Tokyo 2026
XRP is getting support from whales and the Japan narrative

Large XRP holders have become noticeably more active ahead of one of the key ecosystem events in Asia. Against that backdrop, the token gained more than 3% over the past 24 hours, and the market linked the move not only to the broader crypto rebound but also to expectations surrounding XRP Tokyo 2026, where Ripple executives and partner organizations are set to speak.

Highlights

  • XRP has risen to around $1.34, posting +3.59% over 24 hours.
  • Large wallets are accumulating more than 11 million XRP per day, while Whale Flow 30DMA has reached a 10-month high.
  • XRP Tokyo 2026 is taking place on April 7 in Tokyo and is focused on institutional XRPL adoption, RWA, and DeFi.

According to CoinGape, XRP is trading around $1.34 and is up 3.59% over the past 24 hours. The Whale Flow 30DMA indicator has climbed to a 10-month high, while large wallets are now accumulating more than 11 million XRP per day. That does not guarantee a trend reversal, but it does point to renewed demand from major players.

Whales are returning to the market

The main signal right now is coming from onchain data. After more than three months of weakness, the whale activity indicator has turned positive again, while XRP outflows from exchanges have accelerated, meaning part of the supply is leaving trading venues and is no longer weighing on price in the short term. Historically, such shifts in XRP flows have often preceded notable price moves, although they do not guarantee a sustained rally on their own.

An additional support factor came from both derivatives and spot market interest. XRP trading volume rose by about 72%, showing that the move was backed not only by a shift in sentiment but also by a real influx of liquidity. At the same time, the market is still facing resistance near $1.35, which some traders view as an important threshold.

The Japan factor and XRP Tokyo 2026

The event in Tokyo adds a fundamental layer to the story. According to the official XRP Tokyo 2026 page and the TEAMZ Summit website, the conference is taking place on April 7 in Tokyo and is focused on the expansion of XRP Ledger in institutional adoption, RWA tokenization, and DeFi. Organizers say the event will feature 3,000+ participants and 20+ speakers. The agenda includes Markus Infanger and Christina Chan from Ripple, along with representatives from SBI Ripple Asia, a16z Crypto, and Evernorth.

For Ripple, Japan remains one of its most important markets in Asia. In 2025, Ripple and SBI announced plans to bring RLUSD to the Japanese market through SBI VC Trade, reinforcing the country’s role as a key base for Ripple strategy in the region. That is why the current conference is being viewed not as a local PR event, but as a platform where Ripple continues to tie XRP to a broader infrastructure agenda.

What this means for XRP

Rising prices and whale accumulation improve the short-term picture, but the market is still waiting to see whether this interest will translate into more durable demand from major players and Ripple partner network.

And the Japanese event this week may become one of the clearest indicators of how strong that bet really is.
