NEAR gains momentum despite weak crypto sentiment
NEAR remains one of the few altcoins showing relative resilience amid a weak cryptocurrency market. Despite an uncertain macro backdrop, the network's on-chain activity continues to improve gradually.
Despite persistent uncertainty across the crypto market, NEAR's on-chain metrics remain encouraging. According to DefiLlama, the network processed approximately 694,000 transactions over the past 24 hours, while the number of active addresses exceeded 89,000. Daily DEX trading volume also approached $29 million.
Another positive signal is the steady inflow of new users. In June, the NEAR network added more than 500,000 new addresses, highlighting continued interest in its ecosystem.
At the same time, network revenue remains well below the levels seen in 2024–2025. In June, total revenue reached just $53,600, indicating that user activity has yet to translate into stronger fee generation.
NEAR's recovery depends on holding above $2.00
On the daily chart, NEAR has broken above its short-term descending trendline and successfully tested the psychological $2.00 level, modestly improving the technical outlook.
If buyers manage to keep the price above $2.00, the next target will be the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) near $2.10.
A further move toward the $2.28 liquidity zone will likely require a stronger fundamental catalyst.
If NEAR falls back below $2.00, the price is likely to retest the nearby $1.84–1.90 support zone.
NEAR shows relative strength against Bitcoin
For now, NEAR continues to outperform the broader cryptocurrency market. Growth in new addresses and sustained user activity support the network's fundamentals despite relatively weak revenue.
Unlike Bitcoin, NEAR has not fallen to a new yearly low, suggesting that the token is maintaining relative strength and could recover faster if overall market sentiment improves.
