ETH nears key support as ETF outflows return
Ethereum is receiving fundamental support from an updated long-term roadmap, although spot ETF flows turned negative on August 10. At the same time, ETH is approaching $1,850, and a loss of this level would increase the risk of a deeper correction.
On August 10, Vitalik Buterin outlined an updated view of Ethereum’s long-term roadmap. The priorities now place greater emphasis on quantum security, privacy, native rollups, and AI-assisted formal verification. These areas were either absent or played a much smaller role in the 2023 roadmap, reflecting a shift in the network’s long-term technical priorities.
At the same time, institutional capital flows weakened. On August 10, U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded net outflows of approximately $14.6 million after three consecutive trading sessions of inflows. The main pressure came from BlackRock’s ETHA, which posted outflows of $23.8 million.

Break below $1,850 puts the 50-day SMA in focus
ETH is gradually approaching the lower boundary of the previously identified $1,850–1,950 range. The reaction from buyers near $1,850 therefore becomes critical for the short-term scenario.
A break and sustained move below $1,850 would significantly increase the probability of a test of the 50-day SMA near $1,810. If this level also fails to hold, the next target would be the $1,700 area.
As long as $1,850 remains intact, the range formally remains in place, although pressure on its lower boundary is gradually increasing.
Volatility compression raises the risk of a sharp move
ETH continues to trade within a relatively narrow price structure, suggesting that the market has yet to establish a sustained direction.
The longer this compression persists, the greater the probability of a subsequent expansion in volatility. As a result, ETH could see sharper price swings in the coming weeks, particularly once the price decisively exits the current range.
