Highlights

  • US spot Ethereum ETFs saw $270 million in net inflows in the latest session, the highest since October.
  • BitMine Immersion purchased 12,500 ETH, and a 6.59% increase in open interest points to rising institutional and trading activity.
  • ETH/USD trades with short- and long-term bullish momentum, forecast to consolidate between $2,671 and $2,847 over the next 2 to 3 days.

Record ETF inflows and corporate buying spur institutional demand

US spot Ethereum ETFs drew approximately $270 million in fresh capital during the latest session, marking the largest single-day inflow since October and signaling a marked expansion in investor demand, according to Fxstreet. This surge in inflows channels regulated funds directly into ETH, providing a tangible boost to market liquidity and supporting increased institutional participation. Additionally, BitMine Immersion’s reported purchase of 12,500 ETH reflects growing corporate accumulation, while a 6.59% rise in open interest suggests heightened trading activity and deeper derivatives market engagement.

Momentum persists as technical indicators diverge on overbought risks

On the hourly chart, ETH/USD is positioned above the MA-20 at $2,754 and the MA-50 at $2,741, with long-term support evident from the MA-200 at $2,084. The Ichimoku Kijun at $2,752 marks immediate support. MACD and ADX continue to register bullish signals, and the Awesome Oscillator is in alignment, while RSI is measured at 60.79. However, CCI and Bull/Bear Power indicate overbought conditions, and Stochastic RSI shows a strong sell, highlighting a divergence between momentum and oscillator readings.

Sideways consolidation favored amid skewed breakout risk

Over the next two to three trading days, ETH/USD is expected to consolidate within a volatility band of $2,671 to $2,847. There is a 61% probability of an upward breakout toward the upper end of the range and a 39% likelihood of a downward move toward immediate support and the lower boundary. The base case remains for a sideways consolidation, with directional risk skewed to the upside if resistance is breached and downside limited to the established support zone.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees recent institutional inflows and ETF demand supporting Ethereum’s ongoing momentum but notes technical and sentiment signals are mixed. He remains cautious due to early overbought signs and divergent oscillator readings. Base case is for continued consolidation unless key levels are broken. "I will wait for clearer confirmation before taking a directional position on ETH — current sentiment is positive but not yet decisive."

Earlier, analysts noted that Ethereum’s entrenched position and institutional adoption have continued to reinforce its market leadership despite competition from technically superior networks. The recent surge in spot ETF inflows and growing corporate accumulation now introduce greater regulated participation, making the $2,847 resistance level a critical threshold to monitor for further upward momentum.
