Crypto.com AI venture remains in stealth mode amid rising competition
Crypto.com AI delays persist

Months after a high-profile Super Bowl promotion, Crypto.com’s personal AI agent platform is still not publicly available and continues to show queued access for users. The delay leaves the company facing a faster-moving market as rival crypto and technology groups expand AI assistants for trading, portfolio management and broader workplace tasks.

Highlights

  • Crypto.com's Ai.com personal AI agent remains in stealth mode nearly eight months after its $15 million Super Bowl debut, with product access still limited.
  • Rival platforms including Robinhood, Kraken, and Bitget have already launched specialized AI trading tools in 2024, intensifying competitive pressure across both crypto and broader financial sectors.
  • Crypto.com integrated OpenClaw AI trading in March, announced a 12% workforce reduction to reallocate resources toward AI growth, and secured ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for AI governance.

Platform rollout delays after Super Bowl push

As reported by Cointelegraph, Crypto.com says its Ai.com personal AI agent business is still under construction nearly eight months after its February debut during the Super Bowl, when a $15 million advertisement drove enough traffic to crash the website within minutes.

The platform was presented as a service that could handle a wide range of tasks, from trading stocks to updating online dating profiles. The website still displays a notice saying AI agent generation is queued because of high demand.

A Crypto.com spokesperson tells Cointelegraph that the product remains in development. The spokesperson says ai.com "continues building in stealth mode" and that more details will be provided when the service fully launches to the public.

Competitive pressure grows across AI and crypto

While Ai.com aims to reach beyond financial services, competing platforms are already launching more focused tools. Robinhood announces new in-app AI agents on Tuesday for automated trading, while Kraken added AI-powered financial tools in July and Bitget launched its GetAgent crypto trading assistant in June.

The competitive backdrop is also widening beyond crypto exchanges. Anthropic introduced computer-use features in Claude Cowork in March, and OpenAI followed in July with ChatGPT Work, an agent built to complete multistep tasks across connected applications and files.

Crypto.com continues to add AI products elsewhere in its business. In March, it launched an integration with OpenClaw to let customers deploy a personal AI trading agent for trade execution, and the same month it announced a roughly 12% workforce reduction tied to company-wide AI integration and a reallocation of resources toward growth areas. In February, the company also obtained ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for AI management systems covering governance and responsible development and deployment.

Our earlier report on the Asia-Pacific AI-driven fundraising boom described how equity and convertible bond issuance in the region has surged as companies raise capital for AI expansion across chips, data centres, and power infrastructure. It noted that 2024 deal volume is running well ahead of last year, with high-technology offerings taking a much larger share of issuance and a growing pipeline of major IPOs and rights issues into year-end.
