Zcash price prediction: Can ETF hopes help ZEC defend $1,300?
Zcash continues to show more resilience than most major cryptocurrencies, but the broader deterioration in market sentiment is gradually starting to weigh on ZEC as well. At the same time, the coin has gained a fresh institutional catalyst through a filing for a standalone spot ETF.
On October 7, market attention turned to a new filing from Winklevoss Asset Services for the launch of the Winklevoss Zcash ETF. According to the S-1 submitted to the SEC, the fund is expected to list on Nasdaq under the ticker WINK and would be directly backed by ZEC. Gemini Trust Company is set to act as the fund’s custodian.
The broader crypto backdrop remains unsettled. According to CoinGlass, roughly $550.3 million worth of positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours, with about $479.5 million coming from shorts. The market is moving through another active phase of deleveraging.

Zcash tests the key $1,300–1,250 support zone
ZEC has moved closer to the key $1,300–1,250 support zone identified in the previous analysis.
For the next few days, the base-case scenario is a continued test of this area. If sellers manage to push the price below $1,250 and establish a sustained hold beneath it, the risk of a deeper correction would increase materially. The next major downside reference would be the 50-day SMA near $1,165.
So far, however, the market is not showing signs of aggressive profit-taking in ZEC. The price is correcting, but it continues to display relative strength compared with most large-cap cryptocurrencies.
The bearish setup would be invalidated by a recovery above resistance at $1,432. A decisive move and sustained hold above that level would restore the bullish structure and reopen the path towards the all-time high.
Relative strength faces a broader market volatility test
ZEC continues to outperform much of the broader crypto market, with the emerging institutional narrative around a spot ETF providing additional support.
Weakness in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other major assets, however, increases the risk that the broader deleveraging wave eventually spills over into Zcash. Even with its stronger standalone structure, ZEC could therefore face much sharper intraday swings over the coming days.
