Securitize adds Stellar blockchain as tokenized asset market expands
Securitize taps Stellar chain

Institutional tokenization activity is widening across multiple blockchain networks as firms push to bring traditional financial assets on-chain. Securitize says it has added Stellar to its list of supported blockchains, extending its infrastructure for tokenized equity and debt.

Highlights

  • Securitize added Stellar blockchain support alongside Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche, announced at Meridian 2026 in Lisbon.
  • Securitize, known for BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized fund, cites growing institutional demand for tokenization and regulatory features on Stellar.
  • Stellar now hosts the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, attracting institutional interest for regulated asset issuance and transfer.

Network expansion announced in Lisbon

As reported by CoinDesk, Securitize said it has added Stellar to the blockchains it supports, alongside Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche. The agreement is announced at Meridian 2026, the Stellar Development Foundation's annual conference in Lisbon, Portugal.

Securitize converts real-world assets such as equity and debt into tokens that can trade like cryptocurrencies. The company is also known for issuing and managing BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized money-market fund.

Stellar is positioned by the firms as a fast and scalable blockchain where decentralized assets can be configured for customer identification, clawbacks and sanctions compliance. Franklin Templeton runs a tokenized money market fund on Stellar, while MoneyGram moves money across the network daily.

Institutional demand supports tokenization growth

Tokenization, the process of bringing assets onto a blockchain, has been drawing increased attention in recent months as more companies say they are offering, or plan to offer, versions of shares, bonds and commodities that can trade around the clock with limited geographic restrictions.

"The Stellar network has built the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, which speaks to the strength of its network and the growing institutional demand for tokenization," Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo said in a statement. The move adds another option for institutions seeking blockchain infrastructure tailored to regulated asset issuance and transfer.

We outlined how the deal would expand EQT’s real estate footprint following its Coller Capital purchase, and noted the broader acceleration of consolidation as firms seek multi-strategy depth and larger asset bases.
