Highlights

  • GBP/BRL maintains bullish momentum with the price firmly above key moving averages across all timeframes.
  • Technical indicators MACD, ADX, RSI, and CCI all confirm sustained buyer control but also signal overbought conditions and potential for a near-term pullback.
  • Forecast for the next 2 to 3 days is a consolidation within R$7.2308 to R$7.3064, with a very high likelihood of further gains unless price drops below Kijun support at R$6.9959.

Overbought signals emerge with support at key Kijun level

On the technical front, GBP/BRL trades above the MA-20 (R$6.7435) and MA-50 (R$6.745) on the hourly chart, and well above the MA-200 (R$6.8445) on the daily chart. Immediate support is located at the Ichimoku Kijun level of R$6.9959. Momentum indicators confirm sustained buying pressure: MACD and ADX remain in buy territory, Bull/Bear Power reinforces buyer dominance, and the Awesome Oscillator also aligns with the upward trend. However, both RSI and CCI, as well as Stoch RSI, are in overbought territory, highlighting underlying optimism but also a heightened risk of a near-term pullback.

Consolidation expected amid high upside probability and defined bands

Looking ahead to the next 2–3 trading days, GBP/BRL is forecasted to consolidate within a volatility band of R$7.2308 to R$7.3064. The probability of continued upward price action remains very high, with limited likelihood of a reversal. Should the price break above the upper boundary, an extension of gains could follow, while a reversal would become more likely if it drops below immediate support at the Kijun level.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees strong bullish momentum in GBP/BRL as price action decisively beats key moving averages. Karapetjanc notes that technical signals remain firmly positive, with buying pressure confirmed by multiple indicators. However, he also highlights that the overbought conditions signal traders should be watchful for a short-term pullback. Looking at the near-term, the analyst maintains a constructive outlook within the R$7.2308 to R$7.3064 range. "Bias remains bullish — as long as price holds above the Kijun level, buyers are in control."

Earlier, analysts noted that GBP/BRL had surged on Brazilian political developments, with technical signals at that time highlighting a clash between strong price action and underlying bearish momentum. The latest technical setup, marked by clear bullish momentum but emerging overbought signals, points to a period of near-term consolidation in the R$7.2308 to R$7.3064 range as the key risk to monitor in the coming sessions.
