Tesla stock gains 1.7% after opening flagship hub in India
Tesla has launched its first full-scale flagship center in Gurugram

As of November 28, Tesla stock is trading at $426.60, up 1.7% in the past 24 hours. The stock continues its short-term recovery trend following a broad tech rebound and renewed interest in Tesla’s AI and international strategy.

Highlights

- Tesla stock is trading at $426.60, up 1.7%, supported by a rebound above key moving averages and rising volume.

- The company’s new flagship center in India marks a major step in its international expansion strategy.

- Near-term price targets range between $460–$480, with support holding firm around the $400 level.

On the technical chart, TSLA has staged a steady bounce from its recent October lows near $390, breaking back above both the 20-day and 50-day simple moving averages. This upward move signals renewed short-term momentum and suggests growing buyer interest at key support levels. Notably, the 20-day MA has turned upward, indicating a shift in near-term trend direction, while volume has picked up on green days — further supporting bullish sentiment.

The next key resistance lies around $440, which coincides with early October’s failed breakout, while medium-term resistance remains near $460–$480 — the range Tesla failed to hold during the Q2 earnings fade. On the downside, the $400–$405 level continues to act as strong support, having served as a floor in multiple tests over the last three months. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits in neutral territory, around 57, suggesting there is still room for an upside move before the stock becomes technically overbought.

Tesla’s current valuation, with a trailing P/E near 294x, is high relative to traditional automakers but has historically been justified by its technology narrative and long-term growth outlook. However, volatility remains elevated, and any shift in sentiment could trigger swift moves. With momentum improving and volume picking up in recent sessions, short-term technicals are now favoring the bulls, though confirmation above $440 is still needed for further gains toward the $460 level.

India flagship center signals long-term commitment

Tesla’s rally this week is not only driven by technical momentum, but by expanding confidence in its global growth strategy — particularly with new developments in India. Tesla has launched its first full-scale flagship center in Gurugram, near Delhi, marking its most ambitious step yet in the Indian electric vehicle market. The new center includes vehicle sales, servicing, delivery operations, and a local Supercharger network — making it Tesla’s most comprehensive Indian location to date.

This move follows earlier showroom debuts in Mumbai and Delhi, and comes after years of regulatory, tax, and import-related delays. Significantly, Tesla will import its vehicles from Germany’s Gigafactory rather than from China, a politically strategic decision given India’s cautious stance on Chinese imports. The Gurugram center is also expected to double as Tesla’s regional headquarters, solidifying its commitment beyond mere testing of the Indian EV market.

India presents a vast potential market with a growing middle class and strong government incentives for EV adoption. However, it also brings operational challenges: steep import duties (as high as 100%), price-sensitive buyers, and a fragmented infrastructure ecosystem. Tesla is betting on its premium brand appeal and long-term ownership savings to attract Indian buyers. The company’s messaging, focused on "zero maintenance" and "total cost of ownership," appears targeted at educating a new customer segment rather than competing on price alone.

Base case eyes $460–$480

Assuming the current momentum continues and India’s entry proceeds without significant regulatory friction, Tesla could retest the $460–$480 range in the next 2–3 months. This would reflect investor confidence in both international expansion and core technology advances, including AI chips and autonomous software. A break above $440 in the coming sessions would confirm the bullish trend and open the path toward higher resistance levels.

However, downside risks remain. If India’s rollout is delayed by tax negotiations, poor demand, or logistical issues, Tesla’s valuation premium could come under pressure. Broader macro risks — including interest rate volatility, EV competition from China, and slowing U.S. deliveries — could also force a revaluation. In that case, the stock could retrace toward the $390–$400 support band, with a deeper bearish scenario targeting $365.

Elon Musk scaled back expectations for Tesla’s robotaxi rollout in Austin, announcing the fleet will double to around 60 vehicles next month—well below the 500 originally promised. Despite the reduced target, TSLA shares rose, though investors are increasingly wary of the gap between Musk’s projections and actual execution.
