Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, reports that the 2x SK Hynix ETF (7709) in Hong Kong has experienced a tenfold increase in assets under management this year, making it the third largest ETF in that market.
Balchunas highlights that the fund now represents 8.5 percent of all ETF assets in Hong Kong and trades over $1 billion daily. He compares its scale to an ETF in the U.S. reaching $1.3 trillion, emphasizing the uniqueness of the surge.
Balchunas recently noted that Capital Group climbed from 124th to 11th in ETF assets since 2020, outpacing several rivals in the sector. He also reported that the Hyperliquid ETF THYP saw daily trading volumes reach the tens of millions after its launch. The analyst has tracked several rapid advances in ETF assets and liquidity across markets.
