AI stocks lift S&P 500 as others fall

Andreas Steno Larsen, founder & CEO, points out a dramatic divide in the U.S. stock market between AI stocks and all other sectors.

According to Steno Larsen, while the S&P 500 recently closed up 1.65%, the index excluding AI stocks fell 0.11%, with AI-related names rising 5.65%. He emphasizes that, without AI, most of the broader market’s performance was negative.

Earlier this year, Steno Larsen noted that AI-related stocks reached a record share of the S&P 500. He has also covered the tech sector’s role in driving market valuations. In a separate report, he highlighted Bloomberg’s estimate that SpaceX is valued at $135 billion, boosting Musk’s net worth to $970.5 billion.
