Stephanie Link: Amazon AWS revenue grows by $4.6 billion quarter over quarter
Amazon AWS revenue jumps $4.6 billion

Stephanie Link, managing director / portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors, highlights Amazon's exceptional growth in its AWS division. In the latest quarter, AWS revenue surged by $4.6 billion quarter over quarter, which is 80% larger than any previous quarter. Additionally, the AWS backlog rose to $496 billion, up triple digits, and the annualized run rate reached $169 billion with 39% margins and a 650 basis point increase. Stephanie Link references CEO Jassy's shareholder letter from April as being particularly insightful.

Stephanie Link has recently tracked diverging index performance, noting that the Dow Jones Industrial Average approached a record high while major ETFs and international indexes lagged by several percentage points in previous coverage. Earlier this year, she also pointed out that value stocks climbed 20 percent year-to-date, while growth stocks experienced their second largest drawdown since the global financial crisis, as reported in another report.
