RadiantNuclear lands U.S. Army contract

Tim Draper, founding partner of Draper Associates, notes that five years ago, the RadiantNuclear team was pitching portable nuclear reactors.

Now, RadiantNuclear has secured a $750 million contract from the U.S. Army for 15 portable nuclear reactors. Tim Draper and BoostVC were early investors in the company and recently co-led its Series D funding round.

Draper has a history of highlighting opportunities for founders and early-stage projects. In a recent initiative, he pointed to a collaboration between DraperU, Cardano, and Orion Fund to support new startups, with applications still ongoing for the program (Cardano ecosystem presents fresh opportunities for founders, Tim Draper notes). DraperVC, another entity associated with Draper, was named to TIME's America's Top Venture Capital Firms of 2026 list for its impact on startup founders (Tim Draper: DraperVC included in America's Top Venture Capital Firms of 2026 list).
