Avery Ching: Offchain transaction metrics are unreliable compared to Shardines benchmark
Offchain metrics questioned by Avery Ching

Avery Ching, identified as co-founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, stated that offchain transaction metrics are essentially meaningless, as anyone can record extremely high numbers without actual onchain verification. Ching added that for distributed, horizontally scalable infrastructure, Shardines has already demonstrated performance above 1 million transactions per second.

Ching has previously emphasized that Aptos needs to demonstrate innovation that matches its underlying technology, according to a recent statement. He also reported that the decentralized infrastructure at Aptos can sustain over 1,000 requests per second, with terabytes of data uploaded hourly in production, as detailed in a prior update. These remarks frame Aptos’s ongoing focus on infrastructure performance and technological progress.
