Andre Cronje, who is the founder of Flying Tulip and former Chief Technology Officer and board member of Sonic Labs, stated that the annual percentage yield (APY) for minting and depositing ftUSD is currently 31 percent, not including any redeemable points. Cronje added that this figure is based on the present rate, not a projection.

Cronje has previously described onchain swaps as offering no fees or gas costs, allowing for yield earning and easy asset swapping.
