Nasdaq plunges as Democrats seek moratorium

The Nasdaq fell 5.5 percent on Thursday, resulting in a single-session loss of $2.5 trillion, with semiconductor stocks experiencing their worst day since March 2020.

Adam Khoo reported that the drop followed calls by top Democrats for a national data centre moratorium and a ban on AI superintelligence after their midterm sweep.

Earlier, Adam Khoo reported significant declines for AI-related shares, including Intel, AMD, SanDisk, Micron, Alphabet, and Meta, while the S&P 500 remained only 3% below its highs. In a separate note, he highlighted the S&P 500’s 30.2% earnings growth for Q3, surpassing estimates. These developments come amid heightened attention to technology sector performance.
