Crypto banks operate as reserve banks instead of taking risks, Mike Belshe notes

Mike Belshe described two types of banks, distinguishing between reserve banks that do not take risks with customers’ money and fractional reserve banks that take risks and require insurance. He stated that crypto banks fall into the category of reserve banks.
