AMD recovery gains support from Waymo and next-generation AI chips
AMD stabilizes near support as AI catalysts remain in focus.

AMD is stabilizing around the key $469.50–481 support zone following its recent decline. The latest developments remain supportive as the stock attempts to establish a short-term rebound.

Waymo has disclosed new details about the computing architecture behind its robotaxis. The company uses its own specialized ASICs while also working with a range of external component suppliers, including AMD, Nvidia, Micron, Samsung, SanDisk, Socionext and TSMC. For AMD, its role in this architecture broadens the company’s exposure to physical AI and autonomous computing beyond its traditional PC and data center markets.

Holding $469.50 keeps AMD rebound scenario intact

AMD stock has stabilized around the $469.50–481 support zone. For today’s trading session, the probability of a recovery toward $493.50 has increased, with this level acting as important short-term resistance.

For this scenario to play out, buyers need to defend the current area and keep the price above $469.50. As long as this level holds, the current move can be viewed as an attempt to establish a short-term recovery after the recent decline.

A break and sustained move below $469.50 would materially weaken the technical structure. In that case, selling pressure could intensify, putting the next support near $452 in focus.

Waymo partnership and MI400 updates support the AI outlook

The stabilization around current support comes as AMD continues to expand its presence across AI infrastructure. The company’s inclusion among Waymo’s hardware suppliers shows that demand for AMD technology extends beyond data centers and supercomputing into physical AI and autonomous systems.

The next major product catalyst will be Hot Chips 2026. On August 24, AMD is scheduled to present the architecture of its Instinct MI400 Series GPUs, along with a separate session on MI400 system architecture. Investor attention could therefore shift toward the company’s next generation of AI accelerators over the coming days.
