$600 becomes the key level for AMD

AMD has recovered a large part of its losses after a sharp correction. At the same time, fresh developments show that Instinct is finding new commercial uses beyond the largest U.S. hyperscalers.

French cloud provider Scaleway has announced plans to build its first AI supercomputer outside France in Sweden. The system will run on AMD Instinct MI355X accelerators and ROCm, making it the first commercial AI supercomputer of its kind in Europe built around AMD hardware.

AMD is also reinforcing its longer-term AI narrative. Following Lisa Su’s appearance at OCP, investors have been discussing her estimate that the market for data-center AI accelerators could approach $1.5 trillion by 2030, with inference eventually accounting for roughly 60% of demand.

Memory was another major theme at OCP. Samsung and AMD jointly demonstrated CXL-based memory expansion designed to address the growing capacity and bandwidth requirements of agentic AI. The project deepens cooperation between the two companies around infrastructure for the next generation of AI systems.

AMD rebounds above $600 after reaching its downside target

The scenario from the previous analysis played out in full. AMD stock reached the $585 target, extended the decline to $570.60 and then reversed sharply, climbing back above $605.

For today’s session, $600 is the level that matters most. If buyers can defend it, the recovery could extend toward $622, where the October 2 gap remains open. That is the base-case scenario for the next several sessions.

A fresh break and sustained move below $585 would invalidate the setup. In that case, the correction would regain momentum, putting the unfilled September 21 gap near $560 back into focus.

CPI could quickly reshape AMD’s rebound

September CPI is due today, October 14, and the bond market’s reaction may matter just as much for AMD as the company’s own AI-related news.

After such a sharp move over the past several sessions, even a modest inflation surprise could widen the intraday range considerably. That makes the price reaction around $600 after the data especially important.
