Apple faces resistance near $348 despite new Smart Home launch
AAPL is trading around $344–345 on October 14 after recovering from yesterday's lows near $339–340. During the session, Apple shares rose to approximately $348 but failed to hold near the local high and corrected amid a decline in U.S. stock indices.

HomeView and Apple TV 4K expand smart home ecosystem
The main corporate event was the presentation of Apple's new Smart Home ecosystem on October 13. The company introduced HomeView, a device with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, facial recognition technology, and an upgraded Siri AI voice assistant.
The new device, priced from $299, is designed to control home automation, video surveillance, FaceTime calls, and Apple's personal services. At the same time, the company announced a new generation of Apple TV 4K with a more powerful processor, voice control without a remote, and expanded integration with HomePod.
Sales of both devices will begin on November 13, with preorders already open. Of particular interest is the positioning of Siri AI as the central interface for interaction with smart home devices, which could potentially increase the frequency of use of Apple's services beyond smartphones.
New partnerships create opportunities for service revenue
Another area of development is the Apple Home Collection, created in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The product line includes smart thermostats, surveillance cameras, doorbells, and electronic locks integrated into the Apple Home app. Sales of accessories will begin in December, while some devices will become available in early 2027.
This strategy allows Apple to expand its presence in the home electronics market without having to manufacture every product category itself. However, the commercial potential of the initiative remains difficult to assess: the smart display market is already occupied by Amazon and Google, while HomeView will initially be unavailable in the European Union due to restrictions on Siri AI availability.
Therefore, the main question for investors is not so much the initial sales volume of the new devices as their ability to increase the attractiveness of the entire Apple ecosystem and create additional sources of revenue from services.
Profit-taking risk persists near key technical levels
The bulls' lack of progress near strong resistance, as I also warned in the article Apple approaches key resistance again as investors await major product announcements, could trigger profit-taking and a deeper decline toward support around $335–330, but buyers may become more active during the decline.
