Tesla stock forecast: Can $418–420 cap the post-earnings rally?
Tesla is extending its recovery as a Barclays upgrade and Robotaxi expansion support sentiment. The next test is whether buyers can clear $418–420 before Fed-driven volatility reshapes the setup.
The recovery of Tesla got another push from Barclays upgrading the company’s shares to “Overweight” from “Equal Weight” and increasing the price target to $450 from $370. This was due to the positive trend in the automobile industry along with the development of Robotaxi and the potential merger of Tesla with SpaceX, despite the fact that there is no deal yet.
Positive investor sentiment has been further encouraged by the growth of the Robotaxi program. As per Investor’s Business Daily, Tesla has started using Cybercabs for paid rides in Austin and soon it will add Dallas to its list of cities.

A move toward $418–420 could raise pullback risks
As noted previously, Tesla stock became significantly more volatile after the October 21 earnings report. The shares broke decisively above the psychological $400 resistance level and are testing $410 in premarket trading on October 28.
The next resistance area sits at $418–420. As the price approaches this zone, the risk of the rally losing momentum increases. If today’s session ends with a doji candle on elevated trading volume, the risk of a pullback toward $400 would rise sharply.
For now, the base case remains a test of $418–420 followed by a local correction toward $400.
A sustained move above $420 would invalidate this scenario and open the way toward $430.
Fed decision could intensify late-session volatility
The Federal Reserve will announce its interest rate decision today, October 28, at 2:00 p.m. New York time, two hours before the regular session closes.
Markets largely expect rates to remain unchanged, but the Fed’s comments on inflation and the path of monetary policy could quickly shift investor sentiment and add another burst of volatility into the close.
