Blockchain, Crypto, and Leadership by Denelle Dixon
Denelle Dixon serves as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Stellar Development Foundation, where she leads growth strategy, protocol development, and regulatory engagement for the Stellar network. Stellar currently hosts more than 7.4 million accounts and has processed over 4.1 billion operations across 700,000 assets. Dixon joined Stellar in 2019 after a five-year tenure as Chief Legal and Business Officer at Mozilla. Her legal expertise and experience with public interest technology have shaped Stellar’s unique positioning in the blockchain-for-good segment.
Under Dixon’s leadership, Stellar has launched real-world asset tokenization projects with MoneyGram and the United Nations. Stellar Aid Assist, an initiative designed to deliver humanitarian aid on-chain using USDC, processed relief to thousands of recipients in Ukraine and Turkey in 2023 and 2024. Dixon delivered keynote addresses at Meridian 2024 and the Singapore Fintech Festival, outlining plans to expand Stellar’s validator set, improve wallet UX, and integrate smart contract functionality through Soroban. External funding efforts include grants from USAID and development partnerships with Circle and Coinbase. Dixon continues to focus on public-sector partnerships, aiming to bring blockchain-based financial access to underserved communities in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa.
