Michael Maloney is a seasoned crypto advisor, executive, and educator whose influence spans the full stack of blockchain infrastructure, from finance and mining to regulation and law. From 2017 to 2021, Maloney served as Head of Advisory at Galaxy Digital, a $5.2 billion digital asset merchant bank, where he co-led institutional onboarding for blockchain investment vehicles. He later served as CFO of Coinmint, one of North America's largest crypto mining operations, overseeing deployment of 435 MW of renewable-powered ASIC computing at its Massena, NY site.
Since 2023, Maloney has served on the board of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (OTC: BMNR), where he holds 211,250 shares (3.43%) as of Q2 2025. He is credited with helping scale immersion cooling systems that increased mining efficiency by 17% year-over-year. In academia, Maloney lectures on blockchain finance and regulation at Fordham University School of Law and contributes to curriculum design for emerging markets’ legal crypto frameworks.
Earlier in his career, Maloney founded EY’s Distributed Ledger Technology practice, where he led 12+ enterprise blockchain deployments focused on AML, identity, and global supply chain verification. His 2022 book, The Great Gold, Silver & Crypto Rush of the 21st Century, has sold more than 70,000 copies and is widely cited in asset diversification studies. Maloney remains one of the few figures operating simultaneously at the executive, regulatory, educational, and infrastructural levels of the crypto economy.
