Stani Kulechov is the founder and CEO of Aave Labs, creator of one of DeFi’s most important lending protocols. Since launching ETHLend in 2017 and rebranding to Aave in 2020, he has built a system that now supports over $12.5 billion in liquidity across 12 chains. He also founded Lens Protocol, a decentralized social graph for Web3 creators.
In December 2024, he raised $31 million to expand Lens and Avara, Aave’s parent company, which opened its European headquarters in Dublin in 2025. Aave employs nearly 100 staff worldwide and continues to lead in integrating institutional finance with DeFi. His role reflects both protocol engineering and global team leadership.
Kulechov’s estimated net worth is $150–250 million, anchored in AAVE holdings and venture equity. His achievements include helping grow Aave to serve more than 1.8 million unique users, partnering with institutions such as Fireblocks and SEBA Bank, and making Aave one of the first DeFi platforms to integrate compliance tools for regulated markets.
