Interactive Brokers review: Ask IBKR brings real-time portfolio intelligence
Interactive Brokers (IBKR), a leading global electronic trading platform, has launched Ask IBKR, a new AI-powered tool that allows investors to instantly analyze and interact with their portfolio data through natural language queries. The feature enables clients to ask intuitive questions — such as “What sector am I underweight compared to the S&P 500?” — and receive immediate, visualized answers.
- Chosen by 0+ local traders in the last 3 months.
- Traders earn on average 12% more per month vs other brokers.
“With Ask IBKR, we're introducing a natural language-based way for investors to interact with their portfolio data,” said Milan Galik, Chief Executive Officer at Interactive Brokers. “Instead of navigating across screens, clients can simply ask questions and get instant insights.”
Ask IBKR is built as an extension of PortfolioAnalyst, the company’s comprehensive and free portfolio management solution, which already offers detailed tracking of investment performance, asset allocation, and benchmark comparisons.
Comprehensive query categories and AI precision
The new tool supports a range of query categories, including portfolio metrics, allocation analysis, holdings exploration, and activity tracking. Clients can compare performance against benchmarks, review trade histories, monitor cash flows, and identify top holdings — all through a simple chat-like interface.
Unlike many generative AI systems, Ask IBKR uses proprietary techniques to ensure reliable answers and reduce uncertainty. It also offers intelligent question completion that suggests relevant queries as users type, and dropdown menus for selecting parameters such as benchmarks, timeframes, and accounts.
Interactive Brokers plans to expand Ask IBKR’s capabilities to cover fundamental data, corporate actions, tax lot details, and reporting functions, allowing investors to access the platform’s vast data ecosystem more intuitively and efficiently.
Enhancing the trader experience
Founded in 1977, Interactive Brokers serves more than 2.4 million accounts across over 200 countries and territories, providing traders with direct market access, low commissions, and advanced analytical tools. The introduction of Ask IBKR reinforces the company’s reputation for technological innovation aimed at helping investors make faster, data-driven decisions.
By merging AI and portfolio analytics, Interactive Brokers is positioning itself at the forefront of financial technology. Future updates are expected to deepen integration between artificial intelligence and investment management, making advanced portfolio analysis more accessible to both retail and institutional clients.
